The EcoBusiness Launch on March 18, 2008 was a tremendous celebration of eco-excellence within the business community.

Ajax Mayor Steve Parish and Pickering Mayor Dave Ryan opened the event by welcoming our guests and exhibitors. Well-known author and sustainability expert, Bob Willard gave a excellent presentation on business sustainability.

The launch showcased the people and following companies in Ajax and Pickering that are leading the way and inspiring others to follow: Dalar Contracting, Die Max, Eco-Tec Inc., Grace, Hubbell Canada LP, Lear Corporation, Messier-Dowty Inc. Ajax, Monarch Kitchen and Bath Centre Limited, Ontario Power Generation, Paul Williams Insurance, Pickering Town Centre, Purdue Pharma, Sheridan Dental, The Ajax Riding Academy, Vandermeer Nursery Ltd., and Veridian Connections Inc.

Peter Love, Ontario's Chief Energy Conservation Officer joined the event to present Jack McGinnis, Chair of the Board of Directors of Durham Sustain Ability with an award for over 25 years of encouraging public energy conservation and sustainability actions.

More than 30 exhibitors with a wide range of expertise in energy efficiency and other sustainable best practices for businesses were available to provide highly practical information and services to help strategically reposition business toward a sustainable future.
